When all else fails, the manual approach is your all-time option to transfer the files, the built in Photos App can be a bit unreliable, and you will have more control over the files are transferred . . .
Connect your Phone to your PC, if that is an Android Phone, you lot may need to swipe downward form the top and set USB connection to MTP
Open up Windows Fie Explorer (folder icon on your Taskbar)
On the left click 'This PC'
On the right double click your phone or the DCIM folder (whichever shows upwardly)
Then elementary select the files you want to transfer and drag them into the Pictures folder in the left pane of File Explorer
That's it!

A. Y'all can use File Explorer to transfer photos from phone to Windows. When you lot attach your phone, expect for your phone nether This PC > Click to locate DCIM folder > Open DCIM binder > Select required picture show > CTRL+C to re-create > Go to the target binder and CTRL+V
B. Additionally, y'all tin apply below guide to transfer pics from Android to Windows 10 computer. There are 3 methods described here
i. Using Phone Companion app
2. Using Photos App

I have tried this, but have no photos tab. I can detect a few photos which were in my folder. My Windows 10 does not give me an option to upload. I take never done this before and actually don't know what I am doing!

Dave, thank you for the explicit instructions. Merely a few problems: I don't take anything on the left that says "this pc" and I have no dcim folder. What to do?
